Blaine County Commissioner and musician Victor Miller passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls due to complications from diabetes.
Miller was 58 years old.
U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT), who hails from Big Sandy, said in a press release: "Vic Miller was a great friend who will be deeply missed. Vic believed in personal freedoms, standing up for Montana values, and most of all the value of friendship and public service. Vic ended all of his voicemail greetings by saying, 'I'm here to serve you.' He spent a lifetime doing just that, making Harlem a better community, Blaine a better county, and Montana a better state. Sharla and I have the entire Miller family in our thoughts and prayers."
Tester said that he and Miller played together in a band before Tester was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006.
Miller is survived by sisters Darla Dahl and Pam Conatser of Havre, MT; Carla Chambers of Harlem, MT; and stepchildren James, Sarah, and David.
A celebration of Miller's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at the Harlem High School gym.
