Some Browning residents were among those involved in a deadly avalanche in British Columbia on Sunday.

Two people were killed and as many as 30 were injured.

All of the Browning residents at the scene have been accounted for; some were injured, but the extent of their injuries is not known.

As many as 200 people ignored avalanche warnings and gathered for an unsanctioned snowmobile event, the Big Iron Shootout.

Authorities say they believe the accident occurred because three stunt riders were circling around the top of the mountain for several minutes.

Both people killed in the avalanche were from Strathmore, Alberta.
