Celtic Cowboy Pub & Restaurant opens in downtown Great Falls

GREAT FALLS - The Celtic Cowboy Pub & Restaurant at 116 1st Avenue South in Great Falls opened on Friday.

The opening of the Irish-themed eatery was delayed for several weeks as the owners waited for custom mill working, including the bar, waitress stools, and other items from Calgary and Ireland.

The "Celtic Cowboy" moniker stemmed from a nickname given to Robert Vaughn, a rancher from Wales, who was a close friend of Paris Gibson, the founder of Great Falls.

The restaurant features Irish food and a band stage on the main floor, and will soon open a wine bar and unique conference rooms downstairs.

The restaurant is located in the Arvon Block Building, and by next summer, managing partner Wayne Thares says that the Hotel Arvon will also be open.

We'll have more on the opening during this evening's newscast.
