HELENA - A man who attempted to rob a Papa John's Pizza store on Monday got away with a pizza and some hot wings.
According to Helena Police, the man entered the store around midnight near closing time and gave the cashier a note to hand over money.
As the cashier opened the till, the man started crying and said the only reason he was robbing the store was to feed his wife and kids.
The clerk talked the man out of taking the money and offered to make him a pizza and some wings.
While the man waited, a knife fell out of his pocket, which he picked up and put back in his pocket.
Police reports describe the suspect as about 5'9" tall, with a slender build, wearing black Carhartt jeans, and a red bandana.
After getting his pizza, he walked away heading east on Prospect Avenue.
Police would like to talk to the man, but say they don't know if any charges will be filed.
