Instead of spending their Saturday lounging and watching TV, the CMR Drama class took to the community hoping to help those in need for the holiday season.
Drama students participated in their annual "Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat."
Students started collecting food at 10 a.m. All the collected items go to the CMR Pantry which serves what faculty and students call "the CMR Community."
Drama teacher Chris Evans said he couldn't be more proud about his kids helping the community.
"This is a perfect opportunity for the kids in Drama to display their skills, as you would say," Evans said with a chuckle. "To go out and help, have a little bit of fun, and this is one of the days they look forward to all year."
Last year the students gathered over 700 pounds of food for the pantry and each year their goal is just one pound more than the year before.
Students, faculty and staff members in need can all go to the pantry and get what items they need.
