Craigslist has officially closed the adult services section of its website, after much publicized criticism.

In the past few weeks, 19 state attorneys general demanded it shut down the section.

Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock was one of the objectors, and says the site openly advertises prostitution and child sex trafficking.

Bullock released the following statement Saturday afternoon: "Ads for prostitution were rampant on this section of the website and I'm pleased that Craigslist has removed it - it's a step in the right direction and the responsible thing to do."

The section is now replaced by a black and white "censored" logo.
