A group of citizens that have been working to get sealed city documents relating to the Highwood Generating Station released will have to wait at least another weekend.

Members of the public and members of the Montana Environmental Information Center marched to Great Falls city offices on Friday to demand that staff members comply with a recent court decision to release thousands of pages regarding the proposed Highwood Generating Station.

Because Southern Montana Electric has filed a request to put the release on hold, the City has said it will wait until the judge rules on the request before releasing documents.

Ron Gessaman, a member of MEIC, said, "If this ends up in an appeal to the state Supreme Court it may take years for the Supreme Court to make a judgement on this. While that's going on, if there's a stay in place then we won't be able to get these documents."

While in the city offices, the group got a call from the office of the district judge who made the decision.

The judge's clerk of court told the group he will not take any enforcement action against the city until he has ruled on the request for stay.

He plans to rule on the request on Monday.
