An estimated 150 dancers from across the state and Canada gathered at the Mansfield Theater in Great Falls this weekend for an annual dance competition.

The competition is sponsored by Dance Educators of America, a national dance organization promoting teaching, training and performance opportunities for students and professionals.

The dancers range from seven years old to 21 years old.

Linda Fuller of Miss Linda's School of Dance noted, "It's fun because they do meet other dancers, I always tell them make a new friend. And I know students of mine that have gone on to college and what not who get to college, even in another state, and say 'I know you from dance competition.' So it's great to have them from other places and have someone else to compete against."

Among the winners from Miss Linda's: Chris Constantino, who came away with the overall high score and a platinum medal for a tap solo.

Two other groups also won platinum medals and will all move on to a dance workshop in Las Vegas this summer.
