The adventures of Lewis and Clark, whose cross-country journey unlocked a huge swatch of America, seem almost tailer-made to be turned into a video game: a perilous expedition to an almost-unknown destination, encounters with dangerous and exotic animals, journeying through new and battling harsh weather, and such.
And in fact, it is a video game - or soon will be.
Joshua DeBonis, a video game designer from Connecticut, will be speaking at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Great Falls to explain how he is transforming the real-life adventure into an immersive role-playing video game.
The video game, titled "Meriwether," will allow players to become Meriwether Lewis as he ventures forth with the Corps of Discovery.
DeBonis' presentation will begin at 7 pm on Thursday, June 30th, at the L&C Interpretive Center; it is free and open to the public.
Visit MeriwetherGame.com for more information about the development of the game.
