Elk Trail Fire near Lincoln at 35 acres

The Elk Trail Fire near Lincoln is estimated to have burned 35 acres as of Tuesday evening.

Initial reports indicate that it was triggered from a slash pile at a private residence.

There are currently four helicopters flying in water to battle the blaze.

There is a road block in place at the intersection of Landers Fork Road and Elk Trail Loop; only residents are allowed past that point back in their homes.

No injuries have been reported, and no structures have been damaged at this point.

(First Report, 2:28 pm) A fire northeast of Lincoln has been reported. It is not yet known how large the fire is, or if there are any injuries.

911 Dispatch received a call at 1:00 pm about the fire, which is located approximately eight miles north of Highway 1 near Landers Fork Creek.

Lewis & Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton told KXLH that his officers are responding to the scene, in addition to Lincoln firefighters.

Officials are still trying to determine if any structures are threatened by the fire.
