The ninth annual Evel Knievel Days is underway in Butte, and some new events have been added into the mix to join old time favorites.

Over on Park and Wyoming in Uptown Butte, the 50-50 BMX demo, featuring top BMX riders performing acrobatic jumps off the quarter-pipe as well as some flatland tricks, such as a "tailwhip."

Just a block east over on Arizona, the short track race features riders on four-wheelers zipping through the street course. This same track also hosts dirt bike races.

Also, some new visitors landed in Butte this afternoon at the Bert-Mooney Airport. It was an aerial spectacle as an F-16 Fighting Falcon and FA-18 Super Hornet Flew over Butte. The two military jets zoomed past the Lady of the Rockies twice, giving the Mining City a show that also included a touch-and-go and another loop around the city before landing.

These two jets are not just for show either. The pilots conducted training on the flight up to Butte since they are used as fighter and attacker aircraft.

The fighter jets are now at the Bert Mooney Airport where they will remain for the weekend as an attraction for Evel Knievel Days.

You can get up close to all the aircraft on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Bert Mooney Airport.

There will also be a Seahawk helicopter with the jets that just landed in Butte.
