Famous Dave's in Kalispell scorched with $250K in damage

A restaurant in Kalispell caught fire on Saturday, leaving $250,000 worth of damage in its wake.
The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a 911 call at Famous Dave's Restaurant on on U.S. Highway 93 North on Saturday night at 9:41 p.m.
Fire officials say that by the time they arrived on scene, everyone had been evacuated. An employee saw smoke in a mechanical room and quickly called 911.
Firefighters saw an explosion before they went inside, and believe that it may have been from the mechanical room where the employee first saw smoke.
Firefighters put the fire out by gaining access through the roof above the mechanical room. Most of the damage was near the mechanical room, but the rest of the building has smoke and water damage.
The Kalispell Police Department, Kalispell, Evergreen and Whitefish Fire Departments all responded to the fire.
