Football officially kicked off for collegiate teams around the state Saturday, and those games are giving area bars a boost in business.

There were lots of Grizzly fans as well as Bobcat fans at the Halftime Sports Bar.

Management says during the fall and winter sports seasons, their business nearly doubles.

They also give away tickets to the both Griz and Cats games while the games are on at the bar.

Even though bar manager Robyn Roberts says there wasn't much to cheer about during the summer, football fans rooting for their teams will help sales.

"Summer is always our slowest time, everybody's doing something else and we are totally sports-oriented and football season is our biggest season," Roberts said.

The Sting was also pretty busy with football fans from all over, not just catching Montana's teams in action.

Manager Jennea Garrett says The Sting will be buzzing all winter long.

"Sundays are busy with the NFL, and Saturday days are busy with the college football, and then Mondays with the -- so any time there's a sport on we're pretty busy in the wintertime."
