Girl Scouts make first cookie sale of the season to Governor Bullock

HELENA - Governor Steve Bullock is stocking up on Girl Scout cookies.

He's the first Montanan to get his pick of the seasonal treats.

Two Girl Scouts from Helena practiced their cookie-selling pitch on the Governor on Friday afternoon.

They told him that all the proceeds of the cookie sales go to help fund Girl Scout trips and camps and also help fund scholarships.

One of the Girls Scouts told the governor, "You do realize that every time you sign a bill you could eat a cookie?"

Bullock appreciated that suggestion, and countered with own: "Every time I sign a bill I could eat a cookie? What about every time I veto?"

The other Girl Scout was ready for that: "You eat two cookies!"

And in case you were wondering - Bullock bought Thin Mints, Tagalongs, and Trefoils.

Girl Scout cookies officially go on sale tomorrow.
