Great Falls officials say they have received several complaints that candidates are not following the rules when it comes to campaign signs.
The signs were put up legally during the primary season.
As of Thursday, however, candidates can start all over again and begin putting up campaign signs in Cascade County, and on Friday, they can begin placing them within city limits.
But some people have been putting signs up long before the allowed start dates.
According to city regulations, signs can not be larger than 16 square feet in area and four feet in height and placed at least 12 feet from the back of a curb. Signs must be removed within seven days after an election, and they must leave vehicular and pedestrian sight distances unobstructed.
Great Falls officials say that if candidates are not following the rules, they will be notified.
