People interested in the Great Falls Salvation Army Thanksgiving and Christmas services in Great Falls can beging signing up.
Salvation Army Family Services on 527 9th Avenue South will be taking names for Thanksgiving service on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Sign-ups for Christmas service will be taken through December 7th.
Organizers said they look at the income of the families and special circumstances to decide what families qualify. Families must live in Cascade County.
Along with food from the pantry for Thanksgiving and Christmas, families will also receive a gift card for food. Children 12 and under will receive a toy for Christmas.
To make this happen, however, organizers said they need help from the community.
"We appreciate the support that we've had throughout the year, but the holidays are coming so we need people to dig deep and help," noted Salvation Army Major Joe Huttenlocker.
Huttenlocker said this year they will accept 300 families for Thanksgiving and 500 families for Christmas.
To apply you must bring the following:
-Photo ID and Social Security cards (if not on ID) for adults.
-Medical cards or birth certificates and Social Security cards for children.
-Proof of income for the entire household.
-Proof of address (rent receipt and utility bill).
-Be prepared to provide clothing sizes for children.
-Kids 12 and under - please provide a toy list.
Huttenlocker said they are also looking for volunteers to help throughout the holidays.
