Man rescued after falling down Billings rim-rocks

A man was hospitalized after falling off the rim-rocks in Billings late Sunday afternoon, near Zimmerman Park.

 According to the Billings Fire Department, a man was rappelling when he slipped and fell more than 40 feet.

Three engine companies and a rescue crew responded to the scene. It took firefighters almost an hour to rescue the victim.

Captain Tom Harvey said  the man was alert and in stable condition. He was transported to Billings Clinic.

The Billings Fire Department performs about 20 rim rescues each year.
