The Mega Millions lottery numbers were drawn on Friday night at 9 pm (Montana time), and the winning numbers are: 46, 23, 38, 4, 2 and Mega Ball 23.
According to Jill Schlesinger at CBSNews.com, the "cash now" option would yield an estimated $462 million dollars, which would then be subject to any applicable federal, state, and local taxes. The bottom line: approximately $305 million dollars, net.
The annuity option would pay out over 26 years, with estimated annual payment of more than $20 million dollars. The bottom line: about $13.2 million per year for 26 years.jackpot has now rolled 18 times without a winner. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately one in 176 million.
Until now, the biggest U.S. lottery jackpot ever was also for Mega Millions, at $390 million in 2007.
