Don Rhoads of Miles City has claimed a $200,000 Powerball prize - and just in the nick of time.

The drawing for the winning ticket was held on March 13th , and the six-month deadline to claim the prize was looming on Monday, September 13th.

Rhoads purchased his ticket M & H Gas in Miles City.

There are still several other unclaimed large Lottery prizes with approaching deadlines; a $200,000 Powerball ticket from the March 31st drawing was purchased at the Town Pump in Shelby, and a $50,000 Powerball ticket from the March 31st drawing was purchased at the Mountain View in Fairfield.

People waiting until this close to a deadline is unusual, according to Jo Berg of the Montana Lottery; she told Montana's News Station, "It kind of is not very typical. People generally know within a few days whether or not their ticket is the winning ticket. Like I said, every year we do have some tickets that go unclaimed but for the most part they are small tickets...one dollar... two dollar."
