MT gubernatorial candidate Fanning loses running mate

Republican candidate for governor seat Robert Fanning has lost his running mate.

On Monday, Flathead Valley pastor Chuck Baldwin announced he will no longer be running with Fanning.

Baldwin said in a statement, "I knew our campaign had to raise a sizeable sum of money, and I knew that we had to put together a quality organization. Since making our announcement back in November this campaign has accomplished neither task."

Fourth quarter fundraising reports show Fanning raised less than $5,000 in the final quarter of 2011.

Fanning says despite the news of Baldwin leaving the ticket, he is still running.

At this time, he has not named another running mate. He says he will make a big announcement in a couple of weeks.

Baldwin has not endorsed another candidate.
