GREAT FALLS - Hundreds of customers have walked through the doors of the new Bagel Company each day since it opened two weeks ago.
"Great Falls has nothing like this and we haven't for quite some time, many, many years," owner Renna Koth said. "So we thought we'd give it a try and it's been overwhelming so far."
Just last September, however, the place was still barren inside.
"Most of the construction that you see, the flooring and the walls were all done by my husband and his friends," Koth said.
From the idea to the construction to the freshly-made bagels, the Koth's are calling it a family business, along with two in Helena.
"The ones in Helena are my sister-in-law and brother-law's; they own the ones in Helena," Koth said. "It was really more my husband's idea. He knew that this would be a really good idea for Great Falls. It does amazing in Helena."
Even the Koth's 17-year-old son Wyatt helps out after school.
"I'm pretty excited," Wyatt said. "I've always kind of wanted my parents to open up a store just so I can work with them and it's easier to keep a job that way."
Customers have more than 10 types of bagels to choose from, from parmesan to cinnamon sugar, and one even titled "The Falls."
All are handmade and shipped from Helena each morning.
In addition to the bagels, there's also breakfast sandwiches and lunch items, along with a variety of cream cheese flavors.
"Once you've been in here and tried it, the coffee or the bagel or the sandwiches, the product really sells itself," Koth said. "We're just here to have fun."
The business is located at 2102 10th Avenue South, in between Albertson's and Target.
