New information has surfaced in the Helena sex education controversy.
On Thursday in the Montana Legislature, MT State Senator Edward Walker (R-Billings) read aloud a letter from Helena School Board curriculum coordinator Teresa Burson.
On July 23rd of last year, Burson stepped down from her role in drafting the sexual education curriculum.
In her letter she asks Helena Schools Superintendent Bruce Messinger to involve the community in revising the curriculum.
Walker noted, "She said in here as she resigned from the board, it says, 'It doesn't feel right to this in secret or undercover. I personally do not want to do this knowing it is professional suicide.'"
