COLUMBUS, OHIO - A quiet and respectful Ashlie Tesi appeared via video conference in Delaware County Court on Thursday morning.
No sign of the aggression caught on camera at the Genoa Township Police Department on Wednesday night when she was in the back of a police cruiser.
As the officer secured his weapon and prepared to escort her inside, Tesi began kicking the window of the car, shattering the glass and startling the officer.
But she wasn't done there; after spraying the officer with shattered glass, she continued kicking.
Police say the ordeal started with an argument during which Tesi punched her mother in the face and bit her.
Her mother had pulled over the car, which is when police showed up, and the say Tesi immediately turned on them.
"She began charging the officers yelling that she was going to kick- you know, fight them. She wanted to fight them and beat them up," said Sgt. Rich Lyon of the Genoa Township Police Department.
Even after being cuffed, police said she violently resisted.
"While trying to place her in the back of the car, she began kicking, kicked a couple officers. Eventually, a Taser had to be deployed to try to gain control of her," said Lyon.
Police said none of the officers, including the one sprayed with glass, was seriously hurt.
Authorities called the behavior an ugly example of the influence of too much alcohol.
Tesi is facing several charges, including assaulting an officer and vandalism, both felony counts.
