Helena woke up to a skiff of snow on Thursday, and the ice underneath contributed to several accidents.

At least two wrecks occurred on the Frontage Road in the Helena Valley.

One woman was taken to St. Peter's Hospital with injuries after her pickup truck lost control on the ice while crossing the Ten Mile Creek bridge.

Her truck ended up spinning out of control before hitting some trees, landing in a ditch.

West Valley Fire Chief Jerry Shepherd said, "We had here on the Frontage Road a girl going to work in a four-wheel drive pickup, as you can see behind. Witnesses said she was doing complete 360's on the ice and then lost control, come down off the hill here on the Frontage Road and hit the tree."

The woman was transported to St. Peter's Hospital; the nature and extent of her injuries has not been released, although they are not believed to be serious.

Snow plow crews had not yet made it out to that road to plow or sand when the accidents occurred.
