The Montana Secretary of State has certified another ballot issue for signature gathering.

CI-108 would define a person to include all human beings at every stage of development including fertilization or conception.

Dr. Annie Bukacek and the Montana Pro Life Coalition are heading up the movement.

In order for CI-108 to make it on the 2012 election ballot, more than 48,000 Montana voters need to sign the petition.

Bukacek said, "I think it's obvious to most Montanans that unborn children are persons. As long as innocent humans are being killed in Montana under the guidance of legality we are going to maintain our passion and commitment to affirming their legal status as persons. Our ultimate goal is to end the killing of innocent humans in this country."

The Montana Pro Life Coalition attempted to pass a similar measure in the 2010 election and failed.

Groups including Montana Right to Life, Montana Catholic Conference, and the Family Foundation all opposed the "personhood amendment" last election cycle saying this was not the way to make abortion illegal.
