(UPDATE, 7:59 pm) Power has been restored to homes and businesses on the west side of Great Falls after an outage left many in the dark Monday evening.
Electricity was cut to numerous power customers from the Fox Farm area to the northwest side of the city just after 7pm.
Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to a power pole on fire near Keogh Court and put out the fire within minutes.
NorthWestern Energy crews then worked to repair the damage and restore electricity.
There is no word on what caused the fire.
(First Report, 7:27 pm) Multiple reports of power outages are coming into the KRTV newsroom at this hour.
Numerous homes and businesses on the west side of Great Falls are without power right now.
Northwestern Energy is aware of the situation and crews are en route to investigate.
According to Great Falls emergency scanner traffic, a power pole caught fire around 7:15 Monday evening, but Great Falls Fire Rescue crews extinguished it quickly.
