GREAT FALLS - NorthWestern Energy has scheduled a power outage for the Carter area beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013.
The outage is expected to last about four hours, and be completed by 4:30 p.m.
A press release from NorthWestern Energy says that the outage will allow the company to do reliability upgrades, including work in a substation and replacing a transmission pole in the area.
The outage will affect Carter and customers north and south of the community.

UPDATE, November 14: NorthWestern Energy has postponed a power outage that was scheduled for Thursday, November 14th, in the Carter area northeast of Great Falls.
The outage had been scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. and last about four hours.
The outage will be rescheduled, but the company has not yet determined the date.
A press release from NorthWestern Energy says that the change was made to accommodate a "significant local customer."
