A U.S. soldier wounded in Afghanistan was welcomed home in Helena after months of rehabilitation.
Lieutenant Luke Moncla and his wife Janelle flew in from Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Thursday.
Janelle is a Helena native and says it's been a long recovery but Luke will be back to 100% soon.
Moncla was wounded in an IED attack that killed some members of his battalion.
Luke said, "I just want to make it clear, the guys that really deserve it are the guys that didn't come back. I have a couple of buddies that didn't make it, and that is who I really feel for. This is good, this is awesome, it's been a long time coming and glad to be back somewhere where it's home, a little bit civilized."
Moncla is in the 4th Engineer Battalion based out of Fort Carson, Colorado.
