More than 350 runners and walkers got their metabolism going in Great Falls early Thursday, before tucking in to some turkey.
Single-digit temperatures didn't keep them away from the 9th annual "Burn The Bird" event.
MT FWP marked the starting line, and participants worked their way along the River's Edge Trail.
The race was hosted by Race Montana with help from several other organizations and sponsors.
Their mission is to provide events to get people out and exercising while at the same time benefiting the community.
Ronald Ray, president of Race Montana, noted, "That is what we're about. We want to get people out, want to get them fit, want them to have some fun, want to do some different stuff with them. We also want to support organizations around Great Falls to better Great Falls and the organizations that are here that are supporting members of the community."
A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the River's Edge Trail and FWP to support their efforts to maintain the trail.
