The Havre High girls swim team has dominated the State Meet since the year 2000, winning 10 consecutive titles through 2009. The Blue Ponies head into State with gold on their mind yet again, and Havre High senior Megan Obrecht will play a key role in that chase for a title. We caught up with the swim star in our latest Sports Xtra Spotlight.

MTN: If your life were a TV show, what would be the theme song? Why that song?
OBRECHT: "My Best Days are Ahead of Me by Danny Gokey. Because I'm still young and have alot of life to live."

MTN: Fill in the blank: My fantasy team's name is_____? (If you don't have a fantasy team, what would you name it?)
OBRECHT: "Pink Penguins. (Obviously I don't have a fantasy team)"

MTN: Who is the most overrated athlete in sports?
OBRECHT: "Tom Brady."

MTN: Suppose you were on the show "Fear Factor", what would be the deal-breaker for you?
OBRECHT: "I'm kind of a big chicken but I don't think I could ever lay in a tub of snakes or eat a bug!"

MTN: Which commercial do you consider the most annoying?
OBRECHT: "Probably the Beggin Strips commercial!"

MTN: If your swim team were to start a band, what would be the band's name? What would your role be?
OBRECHT: "Popping Ponies! A lead singer. Because I'm one of the team leaders."

MTN: You have placed in every 100 breaststroke you have entered this season, does that make it your favorite race? If you could set a State Record in any race, which would you choose and why?
OBRECHT: "Yes, the Breaststroke is my favorite. It has been since I started swimming at age 7. If I could set a record in any race it would be the 100 Breaststroke. It is my favorite race, it would be an unbelievable feeling and awesome to have my name in the record book."

MTN: Who will win Super Bowl XLVI? (Patriots vs. Giants). What will the score be?
OBRECHT: "GIANTS!!! 24-21."
