Suspect charged in Goodwill art theft

HELENA - Detectives with the Helena Police Department have charged Cody Floyd Johnson for the theft of a rare rendition of the "Last Supper" from the Helena Goodwill store.

Felony theft charges were filed on Thursday against Johnson, 34 years old, of Utah.

According to Helena Police Chief Troy McGee, the media and the public played a key role in identifying the suspect pictured in the theft.

The painting reportedly has an estimated value of $2,600.

Detectives worked the case until they were able to identify and charge the suspect who has been issued a notice to appear in court.
