UM Grizzlies will host Coastal Carolina

The Montana Grizzlies will deal with a powerfull Coastal Carolina team in their FCS playoff opener Saturday.

After earning a first-round bye, the Griz were awaiting today's winner between Coastal Carolina and Bethune-Cookman.

Alex Ross threw four touchdown passes to lead Coastal to a 48-24 win.

Both Coastal Carolina (11-2, 4-1 Big South) and Bethune-Cookman (10-3, 7-1 MEAC) are ranked, and each were conference co-champions. The Chanticleers travel to Montana (10-2) for a second round game. Kickoff is at 12 p.m. (Mountain Time) Saturday at Washington-Grizzly Stadium.

Montana's two setbacks this year were 33-16 at 8th-ranked Northern Arizona and 42-37 to 3rd-ranked Eastern Washington.

CCU's two losses were 31-26 on the road to 16th-ranked Charleston Southern, and 70-10 at FBS powerhouse South Carolina.
