Uptown Optimists launch annual Christmas tree sale

The Uptown Optimist Club has their Christmas tree lot up and running in Great Falls.

Sales at the Optimist Tree Lot benefit children through various charitable organizations.

Organizers say each year they raise more than $25,000 to funnel into community programs such as the Boys & Girls Club.

Roger Lesofski, Uptown Optimist Club tree lot chairman, noted, "When kids come in and their parents come in it's a happy time. Everyone is picking out their tree for their celebration. Just working a lot and watching these kids eyes picking a tree out is a tremendously good feeling."

As of Sunday, the club had already sold 350 trees since being open only a few days.

The lot will stay open until all 1,500 trees are sold.

The tree lot is located in the Beef Barn at the Montana ExpoPark.
