Two young adults are dead after their car drove off the road into an embankment near Kalispell.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a 1997 Subaru Legacy went off the road at around 4:00 a.m. Sunday on Highway 35 near mile marker 49.
Authorities says the Subaru went off the north side of the road and traveled into the ditch striking a metal pole. The vehicle broke the metal pole at its base, and the vehicle continued westbound before striking an embankment on Helena Flat Road.
MHP reports that the female passenger, who's said to be in her early 20's, was ejected and died on scene. The male driver, also in his early 20's, was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center and later died from his injuries.
Troopers are still investigating the wreck.
