An awards formation on Saturday recognized members of Montana Air National Guard for their work through the last year.

Major Cody Smith, Public Affairs Officer for the 120th Fighter Wing, said airmen honored during Saturday's ceremony embody the three core values of MANG: service before self, integrity, and excellence.

More than 200 airmen were recognized in front of their peers during the event.

The airmen who received this year's Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year award said he was surprised to be named the winner.

Master Sergeant Jon Gunter said, "To be able to compete against my peers and to see the hard work that I've put in over the last year was recognized by being given this award. It's something very special."

The ceremony was part of an all day event called Wingman Day, which also had airmen partake in a presentation on how to manage stress, marital and even financial problems.

Major Smith said it's important for airmen to recognize signs of stress before it becomes overwhelming.
