The National Weather Service in Great Falls has cancelled the Winter Weather Advisory that was issued on Thursday for higher elevations in and around Glacier National Park and the northern Rocky Mountain Front.

Snow has become light and is accumlating only above 8500 feet so the Winter Weather Advisory has been cancelled.

(Thursday PM) The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for elevations above 7000 feet for snow, which is in effect from midnight tonight until noon on Friday.

Snow accumulations of up to three inches are possible above 7000 feet, with a mix of rain and snow mix between 6500 and 7000 feet. The advisory also calls for north-northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph.

Locations affected include Logan Pass, higher elevations of Glacier National Park, and the Potomac/Seeley Lake area.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
