CODY, WYOMING - The Park County Sheriff's Office said Friday that duck hunters found the decapitated and severely mutilated body of a man.
The body was discovered Thursday just off Little Sand Coulee Road east of Clark by a father and son from Cody who were duck hunting in the area, which is about 1.5 miles west of Highway 294.
The body was in a creek drainage, about 10 to 12 feet off the north side of the road.
The identity of the victim has not yet been determined.
At a press conference Friday, Sheriff's officials described the victim as a Hispanic or Native American male, less than 6-feet tall and between 180 and 200 pounds. The victim was wearing a dark blue, button down short sleeve shirt, blue jeans and brown lace work boots.
"The jeans had a very distinct brown leather belt with Native American designs and a matching belt buckle with braided boarder and a pearl colored in-laid horse-head," according to a Sheriff's press release.
Sheriff's officials said the victim may have been decapitated to help hide his identity.
An autopsy will take place Saturday to determine the cause of death.
Investigators say there are no suspects at this time, but they are pursuing leads.
Authorities said that anyone with information should call the Sheriff's office at 307-527-8700.
