The Young Marines program in Great Falls held "boot camp" for their newest recruits over the weekend.
Along with learning the core values of the Marines - honor, courage, and commitment - the group also does leadership and team-building activities.
Recruits also participated in anti-drug workshops.
For both recruits and instructors, the weekend is a learning experience.
Corporal Michael Emond, one of the instructors, noted, "I learned a lot from the last group teaching, so it's a lot smoother to go through this time. I know what to teach, when to teach it, when to raise my voice, when to lower my voice."
One of the recruits, Ashlynne Cummings, said, "I hope to stay in Young Marines until I graduate but I don't know if I'll go into the Marines. I definitely would consider joining the military though."
Great Falls Mayor Michael Winters was on hand for the group's graduation ceremony.
