HELENA --  Lisa Marie Silva was arrested Wednesday night and is accused of assaulting her husband and stepson with a baton.

Silva appeared in Lewis & Clark County Justice Court Thursday on two counts of felony assault with a weapon.

Charging documents say the 24-year-old allegedly chased and attacked her stepson with a 24-inch bamboo baton.

She's also accused of attacking her husband with the same weapon.

Both victims had injuries consistent with being struck with the weapon.

Law enforcement officers say Silva's husband was crying and in fear of the suspect when they arrived.

Silva's bond has been set at $40,000.

If convicted on both counts, she faces up to 40 years in prison.
