MISSOULA -- Carol Ann Burrafato has been charged with four felonies after being involved in a head-on collision in downtown Missoula last week.

Burrafato faces three felony counts of criminal endangerment and one felony charge for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. She will appear in Justice Court on Friday, February 20.

According to court documents, Missoula 911 was receiving phone calls last Thursday about a reckless driver in downtown Missoula at around 2:00 p.m. Officers saw Burrafato driving a Chevrolet Malibu, nearly hitting a school bus near Orange Street.

Burrafato led police on a pursuit and eventually turned the wrong way onto Main Street and collided with another car that had two children inside.

Burrafato's car spun out and hit a parked, unoccupied Suburban. All three cars had extensive damage. The adult driver and two kids inside the car were not seriously injured.

Burrafato was taken to the hospital with ankle and leg injuries. Medical personnel at the scene found two bottles of prescription medication inside Burrafato's car.

Witnesses say Burrafato hit two other cars before police saw her. Court documents say that Burrafato has been a Revoked Habitual Traffic Offender since April of 2012.

It also says she was convicted of DUI in 2010 and 2012.

She was also found operating a vehicle with a BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) of .08 or higher in 2011.
