Idaho police officer saves suicidal man (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

Post Falls Police Department Officer Koontz responded to a report of a suicidal man on the I-90 overpass on Friday, February 26th.

Officer Koontz's body-worn video camera captures his effort in saving the man's life.

The traffic speed in that area is 70 miles per hour.

“Sir, stop! Can you talk to me?” Koontz asked the man.

Koontz continued talking to the man, trying to engage him, and as he could see he was starting to let go and slide off the overpass, Koontz rushed toward him, grabbing him by the back of his sweatshirt and hauling him back over the overpass to safety.

The Post Falls Police Department's Facebook page has been inundated with praise for the officer.
