Rocky women capture Frontier Conference golf title; Kowalchuk 2nd overall

TEMPE, Ariz. – Kyla Clancy and the University of Rocky women’s golf program captured titles at the Frontier Conference golf championships on Wednesday. Clancy’s three-day total of 232 was four strokes better than UGF’s Gina Kowolchuk (236).

Lexi Pyette and Rachel Miles of Carroll College finished seventh and eighth, respectively. Pyette totaled a 253 while Miles was one stroke back at 254.

The Rocky women won the team title by 11 strokes (983) ahead of Lewis-Clark State. Carroll College finished third, 48 strokes behind the leaders.

LC-State captured the individual and team titles on the men’s side. Chris Lien was the medalist with a three-day total 218. His teammate Casey Brown and Rocky’s Colton Murphy tied for second place.

Carroll was paced by Austin Egan (241) who finished 23 strokes behind the winner. Egan officially finished in 17th-place. Saints’ teammates Justin Galiher and Bryce Samwell tied for 18th.

Lewis-Clark State’s 901 total strokes were good for a six-shot victory over Rocky. UGF finished third while the Fighting Saints were fifth. MSU-Northern ended the conference championships in sixth place for both the men and women.
