Independence Day is just around the corner, and public safety officials in Helena are urging people to be safe.
Helena Fire Marshal Craig Trapp and Helena Police Officer Cory Bailey talked with MTN News on Friday morning about safety and fire prevention leading up to and including Independence Day celebrations.
They noted that are called to respond to fireworks-related fires every year, and reminded people that fireworks are not allowed within Helena city limits.
They also warned about injuries caused by fireworks, and stressed that fireworks must be used properly, and that children should always be supervised when fireworks are present.
