Teen facing charges for trying to rob Great Falls casino

GREAT FALLS -

A 16-year old boy has been charged after he allegedly tried to rob the Cartwheel Casino in Great Falls on Sunday night.

Police received the call at 8:18 p.m.

The GFPD says the teen tried to steal liquor from the business in a strong-arm robbery, and that he did not have a weapon.

The GFPD says that the teen was under the influence of alcohol and allegedly attempted to steal liquor bottles, and ended up injuring someone in the process of trying to run away.  The person sustained minor injuries.

The GFPD also says that the teen spit at officers.

The teen - whose name has not been released at this point - was arrested and is facing charges of robbery, theft, being a minor under the influence, and assault with bodily fluids.

A witness tells us that in addition to Great Falls police officers, Great Falls Fire Rescue and Great Falls Emergency Services responded to the incident.

The Cartwheel Casino is located at 1900 10th Avenue South.

The GFPD has not yet said whether anyone was injured during the incident.

The Cartwheel Casino is located at 1900 10th Avenue South.

The name of the suspect has not yet been disclosed, and no other information has been released at this point.
