City Brew plans to open a store in Great Falls.
The coffee and snack shop wants to build on the corner of 3rd Street NW and Smelter Avenue, on the lot that once housed Burger Master.
The site was approved by the Design Review Board in early 2016 for a Popeyes chicken restaurant; that proposal did not materialize (details).
The design plan for the Great Falls location includes one drive-through lane, an outdoor patio, and inside seating for up to 40 customers.
The proposal for the City Brew shop notes that the configuration differs from the Popeyes petition in that only one building is proposed for two tenants, and because the drive-through lane is adjacent to 4th Street NE and now exits onto this street, creating three total curb cuts for the wedge shaped site. The Popeyes proposal had two access points and no access to 4th Street NE.
A second 2,600 square foot space, attached to the City Brew building, would house a fast-casual restaurant, according to plans submitted to the Design Review Board; there is no word yet on what restaurant might be interested in the location.
City Brew was founded in 1998, and has locations in Billings, Bozeman, Kalispell, Laurel, Miles City, and Missoula. There are also locations in Wyoming and North Dakota.
The Design Review Board will review the proposal during its meeting on July 25th.
There is no word yet on when construction would start, or when the store might open.
