Jeffrey Oscar Johnson has been charged with felony assault with a weapon. Johnson allegedly forced someone out of a home at the corner of Beechnut and Lake Helena Drive and attacked the victim physically. When the victim threatened to get a gun, Johnson allegedly got a gun from the residence and pointed it at the victim's face. The victim told police he believed he was going to be shot. It turns out the gun was a pellet pistol. Bond for Johnson was set at $15,000.

The Montana Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal of Dennis Jay Hobbs, who was sentenced to 50 years in prison for raping a woman; click here for more information.

The lightning-sparked Rattlesnake Fire near Canyon Creek is now 100% contained. Crews spent much of Monday mopping-up and patrolling for hot spots. The 582-acre fire broke out on Thursday evening. Click here for more details.
