Tree lighting ceremony will honor beloved pets

Posted: Updated:

On Thursday, residents in the Great Falls community are asked to come together to remember pets that have died.

The Maclean Animal Adoption Center is hosting the "Tree of Love" memorial ceremony.

People who have lost their beloved pets have submitted names that will be read during the tree-lighting ceremony.

The event is open to the public and there will also be free hot chocolate and cookies.

The website states: Join us for a special evening as we memorialize pets and the people who love them at the Tree of Love Memorial Gathering.  We will light our exterior Christmas Tree and read the names of the animals who have given us the gift of unconditional love. This event is free and open to the public.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m.; the tree lighting takes place at 6 p.m.

It is located at 900 25th Avenue NE.
