Christmas came early for some kids from Chouteau County on Wednesday when they got to shop with the sheriff and some of his deputies.
This year, 11 kids were able to each pick out about $100 worth of clothes and about $25 in toys at Walmart.
Teachers select the kids to go shopping and their parents fill out a wish list with clothing sizes.
The program has been going on for more than a decade and Chouteau County Sheriff Vern Burdick says it's all about the kids.
"We know all the kids anyways but it gives them a chance to come out with us and ride in the patrol trucks and see what we do and it gives us a bond, where later on in years they feel more comfortable about coming up to us if they need anything," said Burdick.
The kids finished their shopping adventure with lunch at Pizza Hut.
