GREAT FALLS -
Panda Express plans to open a Great Falls location in the new Wal-Mart complex that will open soon on the east side of town.
Panda Express serves American-Chinese cuisine with "bold flavors and fresh ingredients," according to its website.
The restaurant will be located in the East End Retail Center that is home to the Walmart store that is nearing completion along 10th Avenue near 57th Street.
Plans for the 2,587 square foot Panda Express include seating for 66 people, an outdoor patio, and a drive-through.
There is no word yet on a proposed opening date for the restaurant.
The plans for Panda Express will be reviewed by the Design Review Committee on January 23 in the Rainbow Room at the Civic Center.
Panda Express was established in 1983 in Glendale, California; there are now more than 1,800 locations, including six in Montana, with two in Billings, and one each in Kalispell, Missoula, Helena, and Bozeman.
The East End Retail Center will include the Walmart, a fuel station, and spaces for four other businesses.
There is no word yet on what other three businesses will open in the shopping center.
An opening date for the Walmart has not been set yet, but the company says they hope to open in the Spring.
