As part of our One Class at a Time program, KRTV and First Interstate Bank employee Jessica Holt recently presented Sunnyside Elementary School 5th- grade teacher Seth Flaten a check for $250 to buy a comprehension tool kit.
The kit is filled with informational texts like newspapers, academic literature, or textbooks.
He said it will help students gain academic interests and knowledge.
"One huge part of being a completely literate person is being able to interact with texts that we as adults encounter on a daily basis so I feel that by having them use informational texts and having access to informational texts they'll have so much more of an interest," said Flaten.
